One more new WDCC figurine here on Disneylicious today. This is the other limited edition release of the second quarter along with Grandma Fa and it’s titled True Originals“, it’s a celebration of Walt himself and his first animated creature.

In the 20’s, before Mickey came to life, there was his older brother, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit who entertained cinema audiences in the pre-film cartoon shorts by the Disney brothers. When later Disney lost the rights to his Oswald creation he came up with THAT famous mouse we all love. Recently the Walt Disney Company has re-acquired the rigths to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit character and cartoon and released a collection on DVD.

“True Originals“, sculpted by Ruben Procopio“, is a numbered limited edition of 1.500 pieces and is presented on a custom hardwood base with inlaid porcelain plaque commemorating “Walt Disney and Oswald” with a vintage font but the sculpture can be removed from the wood base.

400 pieces of these 1.500 will carry an exclusive Walt Disney Archive Collection/D23 backstamp and will be available exclusively at Disneyshopping.com by July 2009. The remaining pieces (1.100) will be available through authorised WDCC dealers from September 2009.
