Today we start a new section in our memorabilia corner, devoted to the McDonald’s Disney toys distributed over the years with the popular “Happy Meal” boxes, and we “had” to start with one of the biggest promotions McDonalds and Disney ever did. It was 1996 and to promote the first live action film starring Glenn Close and based on the animated classic McDonalds didn’t produced the usual 6 or 8 toys but 101 different pieces. Of course to complete the set collectors had to really go mad, especially since the toys were given (in many countries) into white, dotted plastic bags, instead of the usual clear plastic bags, to make the task even harder.
Some of the pieces were really cute, especially the ones with dalmatians wearing different hats and the pieces that were Christmas themed. Click on images below to enlarge
